Oh how I’ve missed creating posts in this mini sparkly and stylish corner of the internet. I know, it’s been a while since I’ve last sewn something, or painted my face with striking elements. I only have myself to blame (and full time working haha), but I promise it was not in vain.
During my absence I was busy with a few things. Kicking off my return, here is a mini rundown of how my trip to Paris went…
After staying cooped up in Great Britain for 7 years, I finally ventured out further by visiting Paris for the first time in late October. And, as I’m sure you would have expected in late October, it was pouring with rain. Now I DO love rainy weather that forces you to be cozy, but I’ll admit this was a very trying experience. To explore a new city with wet fogged up glasses and mucky puddles flooding your worn out sweaty feet is definitely a memory you’ll never forget. And oh, by constantly repeating “je suis tres desole mais mon francaise est tres mal”, I was filled with regret of not taking advantage of my free French classes as a teenager.
In spite of all of that, and losing my luggage on the return trip (I got it back eventually, woohoo!), the beauty of Paris was still clearly visible, and I couldn’t help but constantly sing “Paris Paris” in my head through the two days I was there.
We stayed in Bois-Colombes and got a train into the city where we went to the Eiffel Tower, visited the outside of le musée du Louvre , and walked the Champs Élysées avenue to see the Arc de Triomphe – I know, very touristy but quite fitting for a first visit.
I couldn’t help but pick up the French editions of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar to aid in my learning, and also entered the very packed Sephora in Champs Élysées (picked up my first r.e.m beauty item, stay tuned for my review).
A very quick and fast paced trip , that only felt like a mere introduction to the city. Although this trip was quite intense, I look forward to returning soon… hopefully with better language skills.
Thank you for reading! See you in my next post.
